Endurance - Collective Worship Session!

This fun and original collective worship session aims to assist children in understanding the value of endurance, through: Understanding what endurance is, and recognising why it is important; Understanding what the bible teaches us about endurance, and learning about how Jesus demonstrated endurance; Completing a fun challenge to demonstrate their own endurance; Learning strategies to demonstrate endurance in their own lives. This worship session is tried and tested, and has always been really well received in the past. The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. For example, there are references to real-life examples of endurance in action (for example in the lives of J.K Rowling, Ed Sheeran and Lionel Messi) in order to help them to make the right choices in their own lives. The session also includes a reading and discussion centering on the endurance shown by Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. The session also includes a fun interactive activity, a wonderful, thought-provoking video about the importance of endurance, and various discussion activities regarding how to show endurance in different areas of their own lives. No further resources are required, except for 3 potatoes and 3 straws for the endurance activity. The slides are fairly self-explanatory, but I’ve included two pages of notes to assist the speaker. These fun and original collective worships sessions aim to aid children in developing their understanding of Christian themes. The bundle contains collective worship sessions on: Compassion Honesty Endurance Humility Celebrating Differences Humility Peace Creativity Thankfulness All of the sessions have been tried and tested, and have always been really well received in the past. The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. For example, there are references to scenarios and dilemmas that they themselves might find themselves in, in order to help them to make the right choices in their own lives. Each session also links to an apt bible story, each of which has been modified to suit a younger audience. There are also fun role-play activities, beautiful, thought-provoking videos exemplifying each theme, and various discussion activities regarding how to show the skills in different areas of their own lives. No further resources are required, everything that you need to present the sessions is included. Each set of slides are fairly self-explanatory, but I’ve included guidance notes for each session to assist the speaker. Hope that you find this useful!

This fun and original collective worship session aims to guide children towards building their knowledge of Mary, mother of Jesus, through: -Gathering what they already know about Mary; -Learning about the annunciation of Mary, through reading an engaging and thought-provoking script; -Answering comprehension questions based on the ideas and events of the annunciation; -Considering Mary’s response and actions after learning that she would be the mother of Jesus; -Studying examples of Mary’s devotion and love towards Jesus, through engagement with religious artworks and Bible quotations; -Discussing the Christian values that Mary demonstrated throughout her life; -Singing a hymn about the Mother Mary (hyperlinked); -Closing with a prayer related to the Mother Mary. The session includes a 16-slide presentation, the script for the ‘anunciation’ section (in both Word and PDF) and the hyperlink to the hymn. No further resources are required, everything that you need to present the assembly is included. This assembly was originally delivered to all of the children in a primary school (KS1 and KS2), although with suitable adaptations it could also be suitable for students in KS3.

This fun and original collective worship aids children in understanding the value of wisdom. Specifically, it focuses on having the wisdom to know when to collaborate with others. It was delivered as a part of a series of three worship sessions on wisdom (available as a bundle), but works equally well as a standalone worship session. This is achieved through: -Recalling the definition of wisdom and thinking about how we can show the characteristics of being wise; -Thinking about what the word ‘collaboration’ means and discussing what we know about hazards; -Watching an age-appropriate video of different examples of collaboration from popular culture (hyperlinked); -Reading about Jesus and his effective collaboration with the apostles; -Relating these teachings to the modern world - discussing how others have shown collaboration to achieve great things, and thinking about how we can show collaboration in our own lives; -Singing a hymn relating to working with others, before reflecting through prayer. The session includes a comprehensive, engaging PowerPoint presentation and a hyperlink to the necessary video and hymn. There are also various discussion prompts to enable children to consider how collaborating and using the wisdom of others can help us in our lives. This resource pack contains all of the presentations, worksheets and activities needed to teach an engaging and progressive 6-week enquiry-led RE unit of learning. This unit aims to equip children with the knowledge and skills needed to answer the big question: ‘What is the Holy Trinity?’ The unit is broken down into 6 sessions: Three Persons in One God; God the Father part 1 - Creation and the Old Testament; God the Father part 2 - The Ten Commandments; God the Son - The Baptism of Jesus Christ; God the Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is sent after the Death of Jesus; Assessment Lesson (assessment provided). All of the resources are provided to teach each lesson (in the past we have taught them as double lessons and spread into 12 separate sessions) and each presentation contains key questions through the 3 lenses of theology, philosophy and human/social sciences. Worksheets are provided in both Word (to allow editing) and PDF (to protect formatting). Each session contains knowledge recall based on learning from prior in the unit, a range of worksheet/ video/ creative resources to enhance engagement and a return to the enquiry question in the reflection section of the lesson. These resources are tried and tested and best suited to children in years 3 and 4. They are aligned with the age-related expectations used by the vast majority of regions/ diocese boards. When downloaded, the resources will be open in the download and also copied within the zip file.

It was delivered as the first in a series of three worship sessions on wisdom (available as a Bundle) although it works equally as well as a standalone session. In this session, a particular focus is placed on defining wisdom and understanding that wisdom sometimes means seeking support from others, to help us to make wise choices. This is achieved through: -Defining wisdom and thinking about how we can show the characteristics of being wise; -Identifying times in which we might need to seek support; -Reading and understanding a child-friendly reading of 1 Kings 3:3–15; 2 Chronicles 1:1–13 in which KIng Solomon asks God for wisdom; -Analysing a bible quote from proverbs about the value of seeking advice; -Relating these teachings to the lives of the children - considering how they can seek support both in their learning and at break/ lunchtimes (without relying too much on their teachers/ adults!); -Singing a hymn relating to seeking support and reflecting through prayer.
